Our mission
Money decisions in India are deeply personal. A home loan tenure decides whether you sleep at night for two decades. A regime choice on a tax return moves real money from your pocket. A withdrawal rule sets the difference between a comfortable retirement and a stressful one. We believe everyone making those decisions deserves accurate, transparent calculators that respect their time and their intelligence.
RunwayCalc exists to be that quiet, dependable layer between Indian finance and the people navigating it. Every calculator on the site is free, no signup is required, and the formulae are written down on the same page so you can verify them yourself.
What makes us different
Most calculators on the Indian web were last touched five years ago. Slabs change, surcharge bands shift, EPF rates get re-notified each year, and the tools online quietly drift out of date. RunwayCalc treats currency. The income tax engine carries both FY 2024 to 2025 and FY 2025 to 2026 configurations side by side so you can see what changed in Budget 2025 with one click. Provident fund rates reflect the latest EPFO and Ministry of Finance notifications. When PFRDA tweaks an annuity rule, we update.
We also draw a hard line between numbers and opinions. The calculators give you the maths. We do not nudge you toward a credit card, a particular fund house or an insurance plan. The conclusion of every page is the same. Open the calculator, change the inputs that match your situation, and decide for yourself.
How the numbers are built
Each formula module is a pure TypeScript function with no network call, no hidden dependency and no surprise side effect. Every calculation runs locally in your browser in milliseconds. The slab tables, surcharge bands, cess rates, standard deduction amounts and 87A rebate thresholds all sit in a single configuration file that lists the source. When the law changes, that one file is the only thing we update. Every calculator inherits the change automatically.
Charts are rendered with Chart.js so the data you see is the data we computed. There is no smoothing, no rounding for visual reasons, and no hand wave. If a SIP corpus is ₹1,04,87,300 we tell you it is ₹1,04,87,300.

Editorial principles
Accuracy comes first. Every formula is sourced from CBDT, EPFO, PFRDA, RBI or the Finance Act in force. Where Indian sources disagree on convention, the calculator surfaces the assumption. Speed comes second. Pages load fast, charts render instantly and there is no unnecessary script weight. Privacy comes third. We do not collect personal data, we do not require accounts and we do not sell anonymous traffic to data brokers. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
What we will never do
We will not pretend a market projection is a guarantee. We will not run a calculator that quietly assumes a fee you cannot see. We will not build features that exist to harvest leads. We will not change a default to favour a specific product category. The site stays useful by staying honest.
